Our Centre was established on 10th January 2004. Since its inception, the Centre has accomplished many activities like membership drive, financial stability, societal missions and introducing Benevolent Fund Scheme.
Sri. N S Singh Founder Secretary of our Centre was a member of the CPWA Head Quarters, Lucknow mooted the idea of establishing the Chapter at Mysuru and discussed with Dr. B L Amla, former Director of CFTRI. A letter (post card) with a request to meet and discuss the feasibility of forming the Chapter was sent out to about a hundred pensioners of CFTRI. A meeting was held on 10th January 2004 in IFTTC Auditorium. Dr. Amla presided over the function and more than 70 pensioners were present during the meeting. The proposal of establishing the Chapter at Mysuru was instantly upheld and all agreed to become members.
Thus The CPWA Mysore Chapter was born on 10th January 2004 and the resolution was communicated to CPWA Head Quarters, Lucknow. On the floor of the house the first Executive Committee of the Chapter was constituted as below:
Sixty five members were present on that day and unanimously agreed to the formation of the CPWA Mysuru Centre. To start with hand written Birthday Greetings were sent to members.
Mysuru Centre is indebted to the Directors, CSIR-CFTRI and the entire administration (including Health Centre) for their excellent support on all matters pertaining to the pensioners needs.
